About the Partners & Nature Resources

Three local Albemarle County women have come together to share a common love of our area and, with the help of a grant from the Virginia Tourism Corporation, have created a website to make it easy for families to “Ease Into Nature”. In addition to the website and other resources, they will host annual Open Houses to offer families an opportunity to dip their toes into the rich and soul-filling Blue Ridge foothills landscape and experience.

Blue Ridge Nature Play partners

These three women, along with many others in our area, are working to preserve authentic Blue Ridge foothills experiences. All three women share close ties to the land and a desire to share their passion for nature connections with visitors.

Leora Sheridan Vincenti: Nature artist and manager of the third-generation Montfair Farm Resort
Sarah Henley: Steward of Henley’s Orchard, family-owned and operated for four generations
Carolyn Schuyler: Founder and director of Wildrock, a nonprofit Nature Play and Discovery Center

We love making a difference and learning how to support children, their families and nature in creative and accessible ways.

We acknowledge the Monacan Nation, Manahoac people and other indigineous cultures who were the traditional owners of the land and waters which make up present day Albemarle County and Charlottesville, Virginia.
